INSIDE THE ATHLETE TRAINING CENTRE – A.K.A. the ATC/DUNGEON
WE ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE

At the ATC our mantra, which is emblazoned in large letters on one of our walls:

10 IN! 10 OUT!

NUTRITION
TRAINING
SKILLS

No matter what your goal in life one should strive to reach an elite level of excellence. If you reach your goal it should on a scale of 1 to 10 a 10 for you. If your goal is sports related then to achieve that goal you must put in a 10 effort in every facet of your preparation. 10 IN! 10 OUT!

At the ATC we train athletes. The common denominator of the athletes who achieve their goals is their WILL to put a 10 EFFORT IN all phases of their preparation.

The training at the ATC can be brutally tough, even painful at times. Our culture that we have fostered since the beginning in the original ‘dungeon’ location is a willingness to push to be the best. We have found that elite athletes push harder and set records when their training partners have a similar mindset. When an athlete competes on the field the will to win, their mindset (heart) is the most important component of success. Superior strength, speed and skill surely are very important BUT heart & will is the most important when the game is on the line. Therefore, at the ATC we want only those athletes willing to adopt the philosophy of 10 IN! 10 OUT! and not settle for anything less in the areas of NUTRITION, TRAINING & SKILL DEVELOPMENT.

How Do We Get These Results?

  • TRAINING ENVIRONMENT: The ATC is affectionately called the DUNGEON by our athletes.  Starting in an Oakville basement we developed one of the first hardcore, warehouse-type training centres in the GTA. Our results-driven, facility was built with one thing in mind – IMPROVING ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE! We cater to serious athletes that are driven to reach their full athletic potential. Every square inch of our facility is dedicated to getting athletes brutally strong, lightning fast and mentally tough. What you will find at the ATC is an incredibly motivating, intense atmosphere; the best training equipment in the world; and some of the most educated coaches! As soon as an athlete walks through the doors and sees the record boards & equipment they immediately realize that they are in a different environment.  A place where hard-core serious training is done!

  • GROUP TRAINING: Unlike other athlete training facilities ATC athletes train as a group. Athletes are not given a workout sheet and left on their own. Throughout the entire workout the entire group trains as 1 and they COMPETE! From the speed drills on the track, to the strength & power stations the entire group is doing the same thing. Athletes are grouped according to strength levels. The atmosphere that is created is pumped up motivation. Nothing brings out the best in athletes like competition. They hate to lose be it 10 yd sprints, pullups, squats etc. This does not mean that athletes should try and lift more weight that they can handle and we do not allow this. However, training with stronger athletes gives all athletes the motivation to get better. Our way of group training is a surefire way to accelerate their gains and make them mentally tough.

  • PERFORMANCE PROGRESS – MEASUREMENT & REPORTING: The ATC is the only training centre that measures, tracks and reports the progress of the athletes. We test at the beginning, middle and end of the program and track 7 key areas of strength, speed, explosive power and body composition

  • EQUIPMENT/FACILITY: The ATC has the greatest array of state-of-the-art equipment for training elite athletes in the GTA: 5 elite power platforms, 30yd Mondo Track, 3 station Keiser Functional Trainer with Power Meters & Cook Core bars, Tendo Power & Speed Analyzers, Tred Sled, Belt Squat, 6,000 lbs. of plates & dumbbells, 3 Prowlers, revolutionary plyo boxes, Sandbags, 3 Glute/Ham benches, 20 medballs, tires, sledgehammers, battling ropes, 5 Jungle Gym suspension trainers. Our facility is equipped as well or better than the majority of universities in Canada. The Anaheim Ducks held their 2009 Development Camp at the ATC

  • YOGA & NUTRITION: We include Yoga for athletes sessions in our program. Instructor Angela Jackson is a former elite athlete who knows exactly what flexibility means to athlete performance. Our emphasis on Nutrition along with meal guidance is an extremely important part of the ATC program and is emphasized on a daily basis.
